Weather in Crimea
The
southern coast of the peninsula from Cape Aya to Kara-Dag Mountain is a
subtropical area, the northern part has moderate continental climate. It is
sunny, hot and dry with occasional short rains from the middle of May to the end
of September. The autumn is sunny as well, but it often rains, especially in the
second part of autumn. Winter is cool and windy. Sometimes the temperature drops
below zero with heavy snowfalls. It can also stay hot in the 20s for several
days. Winter is a wonderful season in the mountains with dry frosty air and
clean fluffy snow. Thousand of Crimeans leave for Angarsky Pass and Ai-Petri
Mountain for weekends. In spring the deep the Black Sea waters warm up slower in
the Yalta and Alushta area than in the western (Sevastopol) and eastern (Kerch,
Feodosia) parts of the Crimea. The
Black sea stays warm almost until the second part of October.
Relative humidity is about 65-80 per cents. Yalta has the lowest relative
humidity. It is worth to be reminded that dry subtropical climate is very good
for your health.
